Mrs. Gayathiri Navirathan

Mrs. Gayathiri Navirathan started her carrier as an Assistant Librarian in 2009 and she has been promoted as Senior Assistant Librarian Grade II in 2014 and now, promoted as Senior Assistant Librarian Grade I since 2020.

She is in-charge of the Conservation and Preservation Unit and Periodicals Section of Main Library, Eastern University, Sri Lanka. She is an Associate Member of Sri Lanka Library Association and a Charted Librarian. And also, vvisiting lecturer at the Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) since 2015 up to date. She is expertized in Librarianship, Conservation and Preservation of Library collections and Cultural heritage.

She is served as resource person for several workshops and seminars on reference management, literature search, Grammarly online writing assistant, reading habits and conservation and binding. She has presented several research papers in national and international journals and conferences. She planned and developed a Museum in the Main Library, Eastern University, Sri Lanka. She published a book on Librarianship: An Introduction in Tamil
